Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

EC Play ("we", "our", "the Service") is an adaptive learning platform for students in Classes 1–12, operated by Educerelator (India). You can reach us at hello@educerelator.com.

2. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to personalise and save your learning progress:

• Account information: Your name and email address when you register or sign in with Google.
• Learning progress: Subject scores, streak counts, and session history — stored so progress carries across devices.
• Language preference: Your selected interface language, stored on your device.
• Approximate region: We detect your state or union territory from your internet connection (IP address) so we can show questions set in your local context. This happens on our own server, the state is not linked to your account, and your IP address is not stored. We do not collect precise or GPS location, and you are never asked to share it.
• Purchase records (Premium only): If you buy Premium, we store your plan type and expiry date. Payment itself is processed by Razorpay — we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.

We do not collect photos, audio recordings, card or bank details, or any data beyond what is listed above.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To save and sync your progress across devices.
• To personalise question difficulty based on your performance (adaptive engine, runs on your device).
• To send you service emails (password reset, account security). We send no marketing emails.
• To improve the quality of questions and the product experience in aggregate, anonymised form.

4. Children's Privacy

EC Play is designed for school-age students. We take children's privacy seriously:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. For students under 13, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account.
• We do not show advertisements to any users.
• We do not sell, trade, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
• Parents may request to review, correct, or delete their child's data by emailing hello@educerelator.com.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following sub-processors to operate the Service:

• Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) — stores account and progress data on Google's secure servers. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• GitHub Pages — hosts the web application. Subject to GitHub's Privacy Statement.
• Anthropic Claude — generates AI-based quiz questions on our backend server. Question prompts are sent server-side; no personal data is shared with Anthropic.
• Razorpay — processes Premium payments (cards, UPI, netbanking). Your payment credentials go directly to Razorpay and never touch our servers. Subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

Your account and progress data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete all associated personal data within 30 days. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@educerelator.com.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Firebase enforces strict security rules so that each user can only access their own data. API keys and credentials are stored server-side only — they are never exposed in the browser.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@educerelator.com. We will respond within 15 business days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the updated date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify signed-in users by email at least 7 days in advance.
